Ex-MDOC official says he was wrongfully fired over information leaks

As the number of parolees suspected in high-profile murders drew news media attention in late 2011 and early 2012, Michigan Department of Corrections officials came up with a plan:

Find out who inside the 14,500-employee agency was leaking information to the Free Press, which published a number of stories calling into question the supervision of parolees and probationers.

The MDOC’s head of internal affairs, Stephen Marschke, said he was tasked with finding out who provided the information.
