Driver critical after rolling, hitting pole in Waterford

A 35-year-old Waterford woman is in critical condition today after her car went off the road, rolled and crashed into a utility pole in Waterford on Sunday, according to police.

A report issued today by the Waterford Township Police Department says alcohol may be a factor in the 9:15 a.m. single-vehicle crash on Airport Road near Highland Road.

The woman was driving a 2007 Ford Focus north on Airport when it crossed the center line and crashed. Airbags did not deploy, but the driver was wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to a local hospital by medical helicopter and remains in critical condition today, according to police.
